Club Med Albion / Ile Maurice / Mauritius

Club Med and Mauritius, I don't know for you but these are two names that sound soft to my ears!

I explain you my little story, late last year, Club Med contacted me for a mystery trip. That's to say: I knew just when I left, but without  knowing the destination! The only indications were: I needed a valuable passport (for outside Europe) and a teasing box, with several photos from different destinations, even so a list of essentials: suncream, after sun, anti mosquito, swimsuit, hat, etc... Well we don't go to the mountains!

Having worked for Club Med 20 years ago, it was for me a pleasure to have the opportunity to return, but on the other side of the mirror, and remark the evolution in the last two decades!

So I accepted and it was only by arriving at the airport that I discovered the destination: Club Med La Plantation d'Albion in Mauritius! In company of 10 other bloggers coming from France, Belgium and Switzerland, we took the direction of Africa, the first time for me!

Ready to follow me in this new adventure?!

12 hours flight later, we arrived in the late afternoon at Club Med Albion, north of Mauritius, and my first impressions were...I let you discover the photo, it's just magic!

After a good night's sleep, we start this first day by visiting the island, which reserves many surprises such as this beautiful colonial house, Maison Euréka!

Then heading for the Grand Bassin, its sacred lake Ganga Talao and its Hindu temple. As I just came back from India at that time, I'd already see lot of Hindu Temple lately. So straightaway I took a walk around the lake, to meet other friends that I love: monkeys!

We then left for Chamarel, this place is magic! Visit the Rum destillery, with rum tasting without any limit (we were a bit high after! ^^), Then a walk around the Land of Seven Colors, and finally a small inland tour to admire that amazing waterfall!

After this first rather busy day, relaxation was essential to attack the second day. And herefore Club Med had prepared us another of its excursions, a boat trip in the Blue Lagoon!

On the program, idleness, barbecue on the boat, swimming, and...sunburn! This place is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life. Water of absolute beauty, a paradise on earth!

I told you about sunburns?! It is with a all red body that I attack this third day, and I will try to avoid the sun as much as possible today. So I start the day very early to enjoy a sunrise breakfast and a walk in Club Med Albion with my friend Ketevan (aka Katie. One on Instagram)

Then sunset with the beautiful Gess (aka Grangeska on Instagram), to enjoy the last rays of sunshine

The fourth day, we will explore the other village of Club Med on the island, a little more to the north, Club Med Pointe aux Canonniers. And as my sunburn went better, heading for the beautiful beach!

Then return to Albion, to spend an ultimate evening this time at Club Med Les Villas d'Albion

Fifth and last day before returning to Paris and its mid-November's weather, we take full advantage of the swimming pool and the sun of Mauritius, because in 24 hours, we can change our swimsuits against heavy jackets!

Many thanks to Club Med for this fabulous and unforgettable stay, as well as to Club Med La Plantation d'Albion's team for their kindness and availability.

Thank you also for allowing me to re-discover the Club Med in another way, it was really amazing!
