BANAD Festival - Brussels / Bruxelles
The Brussels Art Nouveau and Art Deco Biennial Event is changing its name to the Brussels Art Nouveau & Art Deco Festival (BANAD Festival) and will now be held every year in the Spring! The first BANAD Festival will be held from Saturday 11 March to Sunday 26 March 2017.
The program will include guided tours of Art Nouveau and Art Deco interiors that are not normally open to the public, guided tours on foot, by bicycle and by coach, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions and other cultural events.
I've been invited by the Tourism Office of Brussels in December to have a look about different places who will be open during the Festival, and it was very nice! Specially if you love architecture!
Enjoy the visit!
Let's start the with The Villa Empain, a private house in the Art Deco style designed and built between 1930 and 1934 by Swiss architect Michel Polak.
La Maison Flagey, Art Nouveau. Chambres d'Hôtes.
Time for a break and a little walk around the Ixelles ponds.
Visit of La Folle Chanson! Art Deco building by the architect Antoine Courtens. That's such an impressive one!
Time for the Horta Museum, a museum dedicated to the life and work of the Belgian Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta and his time. The museum is housed in Horta's former house and atelier, Maison & Atelier Horta (1898), in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles. A must to see!!!
The Hotel Ciamberlani. Art Nouveau building.
Let's finish by a quick visit of Brussels at night, and of course the astonishing Gran Place!!!
